Admissions Lead – South Asia (In-Country Operations)

Are you an expert in international admissions with a talent for managing overseas operations? A major Australian university is seeking a strategic leader to oversee their admissions functions across South Asia. This pivotal role involves establishing and maintaining the systems, processes, and staffing requirements for an in-country office based in India.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee South Asian admissions functions, ensuring high-quality, compliant services and a student-focused culture.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Policy: Monitor and interpret legislation, government advice, and sector influences to ensure services align with institutional objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide advice and implement strategic improvements to existing systems, processes, and operations.
  • Availability: Due to the nature of the role, you may be required to be contactable and/or work outside of standard business hours to accommodate international time zones.

Location & Flexibility

  • Northside Location: Primarily based at a Northside Brisbane campus.
  • Work from Home: The University supports flexible hybrid working, including working from a non-office location for part of the week while in Brisbane.
  • Travel: You must have the willingness and ability to travel frequently within South Asia. Please note that flexible working options only exist while working in Brisbane, as substantial time is required in the field.

Requirements

  • Experience: Education equivalent to a postgraduate qualification with extensive experience in international admissions and managing outsourced or contracted services.
  • Regulatory Expertise: High-level expertise in interpreting policy and legislation relevant to international student admissions.
  • Language & Culture: Demonstrated cultural and language fluency relevant to the South Asian market. Fluency in Hindi is highly desirable.
  • Travel Readiness: Ability to provide medical clearance confirming the ability to travel and work in India for extended periods.

Remuneration & Benefits

  • Package: HEW9 classification with a total remuneration range of $161,241 to $168,919 p.a. (including 17% superannuation and leave loading).
  • Generous Benefits: Includes a healthy work-life balance, 17.5% leave loading, and a purchased leave scheme of up to 8 extra weeks.
